Me: "English, Can I?" English :"Yes. You can."

Its been 6 years since Mira has completed her English Learning Classes (How to speak in English) but today she cried because she wasn't able to write a simple caption in her LinkedIn profile while uploading a certificate. Her brother Nitin asked her," What have you done to this date? You are preparing for GRE. You have a dream to study abroad after clearing your exam. You have completed your Graduation. Still, there is no improvement in your English. How many times I have told you to speak in English. I sent you more than 100 Links to join an online interactive webinar. Did you ever take that seriously? You read the English newspaper. You read novels. Did you even utilized it to improve yourself ?".
  Here is Mira just an average student who hardly got just above passing marks in her graduation and even failed sometimes. She had completed her English speaking Class after her 12th boards in summer but didn't take that seriously. Now she is preparing for GRE.  As this lockdown is going to increase she doesn't have an idea when her exam will be conducted. So to utilize her time she has joined a few online courses to learn something new.

  Today she felt humiliated. Any aspirant of a GRE must have not only good reading comprehension and vocabulary but also a good conversation skill: but here the case was different. When her brother confronted her, she decided to work on that. 
      Now her main aim is to express her thoughts in English through writing or speaking. So she started reading, but this time she has her dictionary with her. If she doesn't understand anything she re-reads it. Mira and Nitin have decided to communicate in English. So whether it's a fight or an argument she makes sure that she does it in English and wins it. In this period she understood that she is good at English but she has a fear of speaking in English. She started analyzing her performance day by day. She started improving herself by watching movies. While watching she makes sure that it has subtitles so that whenever a new phrase comes in she pauses the movie, finds the meaning of it, and tries to use it on the same day. She started watching interviews to understand the basic conversation style and practice it. 

After some days she decided to test her improvement, and the exam was to speak in English for at least two mins on any topic. The topic will be given on spot and to construct a proper thought process another two minutes were given. She started giving her speech enthusiastically and performed well. There is confidence in her that 'YES' she can speak in English. There was a little thing she realized that confidence can help you to accomplish your work once you start working on it and each small accomplishment increases your confidence like a quote by Vishwas Godbole 'Thembe Thembe tale sache".
